The Ultimate Adventure Bike Tool Kit

If you are an adventure rider, you must have a good tool kit. You should build your own toolkit that suits your capabilities and your bike’s needs.

When you go on a long ride or a short ride, you might face some problems like your bike turning off, being unable to start, or a sudden puncture.

In these conditions, you need a toolkit to handle the issue. Every motorcycle company provides some basic tool kit to overcome simple difficulties, but it’s not enough to solve many problems.

Today, I spent a lot of time figuring out how to pick an advanced tool kit for your adventure ride, and I am sharing my own experience, so let’s get started.

How to build your own motorcycle tool kit

When you build your own motorcycle toolkit, you must be aware of every possible problem your bike might face, such as brake pad issues, tire punctures, wear and tear, spark plug problems, or battery issues.

Next, you decide how to solve those problems and determine what tools you need in your toolkit. If you suddenly face any of these problems, you must avoid being unprepared for such a situation. At home, you should try to check and solve these issues in advance.

Now, let’s talk about how to build your own toolkit. First of all, every company provides a basic toolkit under the bike seat.

Motion Pro MP multi-tool

Price: $76.99

This compact toolkit is specifically designed for enduro riders and lightweight dual-sport enthusiasts.this tool before and continue to be impressed by its thoughtful design. It consists of three main components: a double-ended driver, an L-shaped mini cheater handle, and a square-shaped main body that serves as the tool’s core.

The main body includes several useful features: 10 mm and 12 mm wrench openings, a 7/16-inch wrench opening, and even a built-in bottle opener. The driver fits neatly into the 12 mm wrench opening, and the L-shaped cheater handle can be attached to the opposite end of the main body, allowing for increased torque when needed.

The kit includes a Phillips head, a double-ended flat screwdriver bit, a double-ended hex driver, and 10 mm and 12 mm sockets for the 1/4-inch drive. While it’s not designed for heavy-duty tasks like loosening a rear wheel, it’s ideal for addressing smaller fasteners on a bike—provided you have the right bits on hand.

However, you may face some big problems. First of all, if you see a mechanical issue in certain conditions that you cannot resolve, you should consult a professional to check the issue.

My personal opinion is that you should always carry a puncture repair kit or extra oil can for long rides. In some situations, you might not be able to get help from anyone, and with your adventure bike being so heavy, it becomes difficult to manage for a long time.

One day, my friend and I went on a long ride. My bike’s fuel gauge wasn’t working, and after riding 70 to 80 kilometers, my bike suddenly stopped. When I checked, I realized my fuel tank was empty. There was no fuel pump within 10 kilometers, so my friend and I had to push my bike. After 5 kilometers, a fellow biker helped us by giving some fuel. We then rode to a fuel pump to fill up my tank.

So, always carry a puncture repair kit and extra fuel for emergencies.
